Three decades of export trade from Tanzania
Welcome to SALSA International Business Associates Limited. I came to Tanzania from India, and I have worked in global business for three decades. As Managing Director, my role is to connect you with the right supply in East Africa.
In Tanzania, good supply starts with trust. Over many years I have built that trust with local farmers, mining cooperatives and government bodies. These relationships let us find the right product and prepare it for export.
I have managed exports of meat, cashew nuts, avocado, sesame seeds, pigeon peas, timber and minerals. I have matched these products to buyers in India, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and other markets. I know what these buyers ask for, and I know where to find it in Tanzania.
My aim is a long-term partnership with every buyer. We do not want to ship to you once. We want to supply you for many years. When you work with SALSA, you get a direct link to East African supply and a team that knows this trade.
SALSA International Business Associates Limited is an export company registered in Tanzania. Its brochure opens with a line that says what the company is for: to make the products available from Tanzania and East Africa known to customers, suppliers, importers and partners overseas.

Our supply network reaches across East Africa and neighbouring markets, connecting Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Comoro, and Zambia. That includes some products found nowhere else — Tanzanite is mined only in Tanzania — and others for which the region is well known, such as Zanzibar spices, highland coffee and sisal.
Being based in Dar es Salaam, the country’s principal commercial city and port, places the company at the point where East African product leaves for international markets.
The current range covers six categories. Foodstuffs form the largest group: halal goat, mutton and sheep meat, beef, fish, fresh and frozen avocado, MD2 pineapples, bananas, organic spices, husked coconut, cashew nuts and natural honey. Coffee is supplied as Arabica green beans, dried green Arabica and Robusta.
Beyond food, SALSA supplies core veneers, plywood and marine boards; Tanzanite and other East African gemstones; sisal fibre in UG and SSUG grades; and, as shown in the company brochure, minerals including gold, coal, limestone, iron ore and lead/zinc.

SALSA is a wholesale exporter. It does not sell to consumers and it does not publish prices. Its counterparts are importers, distributors, wholesalers, food businesses, commodity traders and procurement teams who buy in commercial quantities.
For that reason the company works by enquiry. A buyer states the product, the specification, the quantity and the destination; SALSA confirms availability, preparation, packing and shipping terms. Product characteristics that are not published on this site are provided at that stage.
The relationship starts with a clear requirement and a direct answer. SALSA’s contact details are the company’s own — two Tanzanian phone lines and a company email — and enquiries are handled by the company rather than an intermediary.
